About BADIL

BADIL ONGOING NAKBA EDUCATION CENTRE

BADIL's Ongoing Nakba Education Center aims to produce and make multi-media advocacy tools available to visitors, journalists, researchers, activists and the general public while maintaining up to date information on Palestine's Ongoing Nakba. The center incorporates three main facilities:  1) An online multi-media website (www.ongoingnakba.org) featuring a constantly expanding array of short films, photo galleries, and audio productions; 2) An Art gallery and conference room in BADIL's Bethlehem offices featuring photographic and other art exhibitions as well as public events including film screenings, exhibition openings and public talks; 3) An onsite public library stocked with hundreds of titles relating to the Ongoing Nakba.

2012 RELAUNCH

The Ongoing Nakba Education Center has been revamped and is being re-launched as a major public event within the program of national events around 'Nakba 64' in 2012.

BADIL'S MISSION

BADIL Resource Center for Palestinian Residency and Refugee Rights is an independent, community-based non-profit organization mandated to defend and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees and IDPs. Our vision, missions, programs and relationships are defined by our Palestinian identity and the principles of international law, in particular international human rights law. We seek to advance the individual and collective rights of the Palestinian people on this basis.

HISTORY

BADIL Resource Center was established in January 1998 based on recommendations issued by a series of popular refugee conferences in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. BADIL is registered with the Palestinian Authority and legally owned by the refugee community represented by a General Assembly composed of activists in Palestinian national institutions and refugee community organizations.
